Key facts

  • Wizzybugs are free for the duration of the loan
  • They are suitable for children aged 14 month – 5 years (max. weight 20kg)
  • They are suitable for a range of mobility impairments
  • They are for indoor/ outdoor use, as well as off-road
  • Unfortunately, they are not suitable for medical equipment e.g., oxygen to be used whilst the child is in the Wizzybug
  • Children need to be able to have good head control and follow simple instructions
  • Wizzybug grows with your child and is easily adjusted without the use of tools

Wizzybugs are loaned to the family by the charity Designability for as long as it is suitable for the child. When it is returned it is refurbished and sent out for another family to enjoy.

Families can self refer to the scheme via the Designability website.

There is an Access Fund to help with the cost of attending Wizzybug appointments, including overnight accommodation if required.
